What to expect of us, what we expect of you

With the go-ahead for restaurants to reopen, we wanted to make sure we considered everything that struck a balance between the friendly, relaxed aspects of Brawn and the increasing expectation for a safe, more distanced dining experience. Ultimately, we want both our staff and those of you dining with us to feel completely at ease, able to enjoy each other’s company again without any overhanging apprehension.

We will now be required by law to close our doors by 11pm. This means we will be needing to request payment shortly before that.

We have removed tables and will only be using the front dining room to begin with, with all tables amply spaced to provide comfort and privacy where necessary.

To improve ventilation, we will strive to keep windows and our front door open at all times…unless the weather turns critical!

There have been small tweaks to our service, which aim to provide less ‘touches’ of the table and those tablewares you need for dinner, whilst focusing on more valuable interactions such as discussing wine and menu choices.

All of our team have been trained specifically in covid-19 specific practices and are temperature-tested before each shift.

It goes without saying that we are washing our hands far more frequently, whilst taking every care to provide as safe a space as possible to entertain you. Extra rigour has been injected into all of our existing cleaning procedures. Updated risk assessments and cleaning procedures are available and have been assessed by an independent hygiene company.

Payments are now cashless. Contactless payments will be encouraged where possible

We will also require all guests to ‘check-in’ with their basic contact details, so that we can compile information for the national tracing efforts. This information will never be used for any other use. More information on that when you book with us.

All our staff will be wearing masks and the same is now required from you whilst moving around the restaurant. Of course, once you’re sat in your seat, you may remove your mask throughout dining with us.

A New Service

We have taken the decision, along with many across the industry, to address the issue of service charge on your bill. Whilst we always distributed the full amount of service charge amongst our staff, the government furlough scheme exposed a flaw and left some of the country’s hardest working, without much security.

We will now guarantee our staff’s wages in a more concrete way and this 12.5% will be incorporated fully into the price of food and drink.

Whilst we do everything we can to remain affordable and generous in the way we cost dishes, we hope after the past few months, you can join us in appreciating the immense pleasure and value of eating out. To be up front with you, this is why our prices may not be quite what they were back in March.

Booking Policy

Cancellations, Credit Card Details, Deposits

All bookings will now be secured with credit card details, online or with one of our management team. Requiring these details wasn’t a move made lightly for us, but with such decreased capacity, we felt the need to provide a deterrent against no-shows and protect the even finer margins that our restaurant runs on. We hope you can understand.
All cancellations or postponements made within a 24 hour period of the booking will be subject to a £40 per head charge to the card used to secure the booking.

We will still welcome walk-ins at the door, whenever we have space.
As before, the largest party we will take will be for 6 people.

Bookings are now available from Wednesday 2nd December onwards

Lunch Mon to Sat 12.00 – 14.30 and
Dinner Mon to Sat 17.30 – 21.00 (close the doors at 23.00pm)
