Safe Dining

What to expect of us, what we expect of you

With the go-ahead for restaurants to reopen, we wanted to make sure we considered everything that struck a balance between the friendly, relaxed aspects of Brawn and the increasing expectation for a safe, more distanced dining experience. Ultimately, we want both our staff and those of you dining with us to feel completely at ease, able to enjoy each other’s company again without any overhanging apprehension.

We have removed some tables and those remaining are spaced to provide comfort and privacy where necessary.

To improve ventilation, we will strive to keep windows and our front door open at all times…unless the weather turns critical!

All of our team have been trained specifically in covid-19 specific practices and are temperature-tested before each shift.

It goes without saying that we are washing our hands far more frequently, whilst taking every care to provide as safe a space as possible to entertain you. Extra rigour has been injected into all of our existing cleaning procedures. Updated risk assessments and cleaning procedures are available and have been assessed by an independent hygiene company.

Payments are now cashless. Contactless payments will be encouraged where possible.

A New Service

We have taken the decision, along with many across the industry, to address the issue of the iron system. Whilst we always distributed the full amount of discretionary service charge amongst our staff, the government furlough scheme exposed a flaw and left some of the country’s hardest working, without much security.

Our menus are now priced in a way that guarantees our team a fair and proper wage. As such, we do not add a service charge to our bills. However, if when visiting you would like to add a little extra for your experience, you can do so safe in the knowledge that all tips go in full to the team.

Booking Policy

Cancellations, Credit Card Details, Deposits

All bookings will now be secured with credit card details, online or with one of our management team. Requiring these details wasn’t a move made lightly for us, but with such decreased capacity, we felt the need to provide a deterrent against no-shows and protect the even finer margins that our restaurant runs on. We hope you can understand.
All cancellations or postponements made within a 24 hour period of the booking will be subject to a £40 per head charge to the card used to secure the booking.

We will still welcome walk-ins at the door, whenever we have space.
As before, the largest party we will take will be for 6 people.

For those looking for a larger group booking, our sister restaurant Sargasso in Margate www.sargasso.bar, offers the perfect seaside backdrop for special occasions. They can cater for private lunches or dinners with sit down option for up to 24 guests and standing reception for 30 guests. Please contact enquiries@sargasso.bar for more information.

Opening Hours
Thurs – Sat Lunch 12pm – 2.30pm
Mon – Sat Dinner 6pm – 10.30pm

We require credit card details for all reservations to protect against no-shows and cancellations with less than 24hours notice. We will always do our best to rebook your table but in case this is not possible you may be charged a cancellation fee.
We now offer bookings for our bar seating also.
Please note that we do not accept bookings for parties larger than 6 people.
