Poivre et Sel, Olivier Lemasson, 2019
In 2019 the “Poivre et Sel” is 80% Pineau d’Aunis and 20% Gamay. Full of dark fruit on the nose and palate but, like the other reds from Olivier Lemasson, its strength is in its lean, though expressive, vivacity. Fine, scant tannic structure – like barely steeped black tea. Clove and cracked pepper add to the fruit of plush dark cherry.
