Suffering frequently from the perils of frost and hail, Raphaël Monnier’s wines are terribly hard to come by in sizeable quantity. He has only recently turned his full attentions to winemaking, having taught History for the majority of his life. He works the land with a horse still and this gentle, studious approach is evident.
What starts as a moody intensity upon first opening, this Pinot could see you through a whole afternoon of cheese nibbling as the complexity of darker fruits unravel.
