2016 P & C Jambon, Une Tranche Made in Chenas (1.5L)
Philippe and Catherine Jambon make wines ‘logically’ as they like to put it. Without chemicals, and with care and attention in the vineyard. Since 1997, they have acquired around 4 hectares of micro parcels around their cellar in northern Beaujolais. However, after two consecutive years of devastating hail, they started to work with other winemakers in the area, starting a négociant style set up, whereby they buy grapes from friends and turn them into undeniably ‘Jambon’ style wines.
Made in Chénas is made from Gamay fruit from Louis-Damien Bouchacourt, it’s peppery, sapid, and well structured with medium tannin. The years in barrel and bottle have created depth, yet in typical Philippe style, the wine still has freshness. <6mg So2 Total
